Fashion Alive - workshop

Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” is the Italian partner of the Fashion Alive project.

Taking place on November 18, 2022 and organized by Fashion Alive partners UNICAMPANIA, the workshop focused on analyzing the progress of the FASHION ALIVE project within the context of the Fashion Design Laboratory.

Analyzing traditional textile manufacturing methods

Dealing with sustainable fashion research by experimenting with the cultural heritage and analyzing the typical handicraft textile manufacturing of the Campania region, the workshop also focused on the heritage framework of ancient textile techniques.

Various innovative approaches were tried out, using new and traditional technologies, with which to give continuity to the trousseau tradition.

Moving around a transdisciplinary vision that connects different knowledge – such as fashion and contemporary art, textile manipulation, advanced production processes – the workshop investigated an experimental circular fashion system through the hybridization of particular craft techniques.
